Well, I’ve been a little busy with the business, other creative interests, family life, and all that goes with it. 🙂
A couple of weeks ago, it was my eldest son’s 8th birthday, so we celebrated at home on the actual day with some presents and a cake after dinner out at a restaurant of his choice. It happened to fall on a crazy-busy day for me, and I didn’t have time to bake him a cake myself, so I did a bit of nifty decorating with a store-bought cake:
Believe me when I say this literally took me five minutes to decorate! I bought a simple sponge cake that already had jam and cream through the centre and was dusted with icing sugar across the top in lieu of icing. I simply iced the edges with some Betty Crocker pre-made icing and stuck on the little chocolate sticks (Arnott’s TV Snacks), and popped a few crispy M&Ms around the edges. It was very well received!
See another super-easy quickie cake I threw together here in this post.
We then went on to enjoy a spectacular science-themed birthday party, which I will be sharing with you all soon! Here’s a sneak peek of the buffet table:
I’ve also been busy organising an upcoming party for my hubby’s 40th birthday (which was actually back in March. But, you know…better late than never!). We are having a fun retro ‘Cocktails & Karaoke’ theme. Here are the invitations that went out a couple of weeks ago:
I have also been working on the next printable range to be released in my Etsy store, which will be the Science party theme with a version for both boys and girls. It worked perfectly for my son’s party, and I can’t wait to share it with you all!
Plenty more photos to share soon. Stay tuned!
