I’m so pleased to show you all some photos from my son Hugo’s science-themed 8th birthday party that we held at the end of April. It turned out to be one of the most relaxed kids parties we’ve had (after all of the manic party prep, that is!) because we hired an entertainer from Fizzics Education who came out to dazzle the kids with experiments. It’s the first time we’ve ever hired a party entertainer, and I highly recommend it if you’re able to afford one. It really made for a stress-free party!
We recently celebrated my son Harvey’s 6th birthday party, and I’m very happy to be able to share some photos of Harvey’s Arcade!
Harvey absolutely loves Pac-Man after Santa brought him an old-school games console for Christmas which you plug into the TV. And when we saw Wreck-it Ralph at the movies, he was delighted to see Pac-Man amongst the characters and became fascinated with the idea of amusement arcades and arcade games. We visited a local (modern) games arcade, and Harvey couldn’t believe some of the machines spat out tickets that he could then redeem for a prize. Bonus! So when I suggested we could create his own games arcade for his birthday in the middle of our lounge room, he just about fell over! 🙂
I started out by designing this invitation, which set the tone for a bit of retro gaming fun…
In August last year, I had the pleasure of creating some custom printables for a client to suit a vintage car racing theme. While my customer only needed a few items, I knew the theme would look fabulous across a complete printables range, so I set about creating one.
Both of my boys have already chosen their birthday party themes for this year, so I created this concept party table for the fun of it to show the printables in action.
Hope you like it!

We had a very laid-back Christmas here in Crackerland. We normally take off to Sydney to spend it with family up there, but this year we thought we’d flip things around and have my parents come stay with us in Melbourne. Now that we have a house big enough to accommodate guests, it’s much easier to do things like that.
